Defending Champs CDA Go 2-0 in Week Three

Welcome to the Week 3 recap of The Dyckman Dispatch! Firstly, I hope you all had a fun and safe Fourth of July weekend 🎆 (I’m trying so hard not to throw in a fireworks reference in this email 😵💫)
Things are really starting to heat up in the 14u, 16u and Girls HS divisions and this upcoming week we have three more divisions tipping off: Men’s College Pro, Women’s College Pro and Boys HS/19u. Oowee! Dyckman 35 is about to be a movie 🤩 🎬️
🏀 14U Recaps
Faith & Hope defeated EYL. Led by sharp-shooting Jordan Allman (Lawrence Woodmere Academy) who scored a game-high 11 points (including three 3’s), Faith & Hope overpowered EYL in our first contest of the day.
Top Boy defeated Yonkers Bulls. Top Boy Elite continued their hot start, going 3-0 on the season. Once again everyone got in scoring column but it was Samba Batarah (PS 102Q) who led the way with a game-high 15 points.
CDA defeated LPAC, 54-46. This one was an intense semifinals rematch from last summer. LPAC had it going early, amassing a 31-20 halftime lead. In typical CDA fashion, they rallied back in the second half led by Jalen Chase’s game-high 17 points (15 in the second half.) They got their first lead of the game at the 2:53 mark and closed it out. Amare Almodovar finished with a team-high 13 points for LPAC.
Courtcred defeated Team Dyckman, 37-29. Led by Eli Genao, who scored 10 of his team-high 12 points in the first half, Dyckman led 19-9 at halftime. Courtcred however, would storm back with a 19-5 run to open the second half. The duo of Mandel Walters 16 points and Mikey Williams 12 points led the way for Courtcred.
CDA defeated Team Dyckman, 40-36 in Overtime. Both teams were on their second game of the day, and yet they still treated us to an extra period. With Dyckman down two, Tristian Chin hit a game-tying jumper with 7 seconds remaining to send us into OT. Jamieer Peters (Our Savior Lutheran) scored a game-high 11 points for CDA but it was Mahamadou Jaby who put the book bag on in OT, scoring 6 of the team’s 8 points.
🏀 16U Recaps
Good NRGY defeated Uptown Elite, 51-46. Good NRGY bounced back from a Week One loss with a big team effort. Khai Campbell (Earl Monroe New Renaissance) led the way with a game-high 14 points, Prince Davis & Chase Robinson also added 11 points apiece for Good NRGY.
Team Dyckman defeated Positive Energy, 55-26. Dyckman opened up their 16u season on the right foot with a convincing victory. Branniel Salas (Brandeis) led the way with a game-high 14 points, 12 of which came in the first half. With the loss Positive Energy dropped to 0-3 on the season.
Team Tracey defeated Yonkers Rebels, 51-44. Team Tracey gave Yonkers Rebels their first loss of the season and improved their record to 2-0. Josh Charlot (Notre Dame Prep) and Darker Sanders (Edgewood Magnet) led the way with 14 points and 10 points, respectively. Yonkers big man Dabra
